With both techniques, I draw brows hair by hair, and the results look very similar in a photo. The tool is different, and that affects how the strokes look in your skin over the months. This is what I explain to my clients at the consultation, before choosing microblading or nanoblading.
The difference, in a few words
Microblading draws each hair by hand with a microblade: a row of tiny needles that makes a small cut in the surface layer of the skin and deposits pigment.
Nanoblading draws the hairs with an even finer nano needle fitted to a machine. The stroke is more delicate and gentler on the skin.

Which technique suits your skin
When choosing a technique, I look at your skin rather than which one is in fashion.
- Normal or dry skin. Microblading creates very defined hair strokes with a lovely finish. It's a good option.
- Oily skin or enlarged pores. Microblading tends to blur here: over time, the hairs spread and the brow loses definition. Nanoblading gives a more stable stroke.
- Thin or mature skin. I usually prefer nanoblading because it lets me work with less pressure and treat the skin more gently.
That's why I don't choose the technique over the phone. I need to see your skin, your natural brows and what you'd like to achieve.
Does one hurt more than the other?
Neither is especially painful. It feels like little scratches, more uncomfortable in some parts of the brow than others. I take my time and stop whenever you need me to.
How long it lasts and when to have a touch-up
Both are semi-permanent: the pigment gradually fades, and the result usually lasts between one and two years. Some things speed up that process:
- sun exposure without protection,
- exfoliating products, retinol or peels on the area,
- very oily skin.
A few weeks after the first session, we do a touch-up to refine the shape and make sure the colour is even. Later, when you notice your brows have faded, a maintenance touch-up is enough.

At my studio in Eixample, microblading costs €300, including the brow design. If I recommend nanoblading after seeing your skin, I'll confirm the price at the consultation.

- Consultation. I look at your skin and brows. We talk about what you'd like: something very natural or a more defined look.
- Design. I draw the shape on your face before working on the skin, and we adjust it until you're happy.
- Technique. With all that in mind, I recommend microblading or nanoblading and explain why.
